First Stage Watches Launch of the Shoal Deep Diving watch on Kickstarter Mon, 14 Mar 2022 18:48:00 +0000

The watch is a collaboration between Second Hour and Thai watch modder Jack Hypoxia

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, March 14, 2022 / — After two years of development, design and prototyping, Australian watch company First Stage Watches is launching its first version, the Shoal Deep, on Kickstarter. The new dive watch will be launched on April 21, 2022.

Shoal Deep is a collaboration between Second Hour Watches and Thai watch modder Jack Hypoxia. First Stage combines the community reach and watch modification expertise of Jack Hypoxia with the business experience, design knowledge and manufacturing network of Second Hour.

Jack Hypoxia has been modifying and manufacturing custom watches for five years, with over 2,000 satisfied customers and a huge instagram fanbase of nearly 65,000 people worldwide. His passion for design and watchmaking has earned him one of the strongest reputations in the market.

“Our goal is to create sleek, rugged, and contemporary timepieces by using base models popular with watch modders, such as the Seiko SKX, and revitalizing them with beautifully designed dials, hands, and premium components. to create a spectacular blend of the familiar and the new,” said Peter Sargison, Founder of Second Hour and First Stage.

The name First Stage is based on the first stage regulator, used in scuba diving to reduce (regulate) the air from the highly pressurized tank to a more usable second stage pressure, from which the diver breathes. The name also refers to Second Hour Watches and that first formal collaboration between Second Hour and other notables in the watch community.

Second Hour Watches is an Australia-based micro-brand watch company. Its first two watch releases raised AUD 404,000 on Kickstarter. Its third release, the Giant Stride, sold exclusively on the Second Hour website, continued that success, nearly selling out. A restock is scheduled for April 2022. The company hopes for continued success with the launch of Shoal Deep.

The Shoal Deep is an amazingly designed and built automatic diver‘s watch with three stunning dial colors and two premium case finishes.

The watch movement is a Japanese Miyota 9039 custom rotor with a 24 jewel automatic high beat, 28,800bph at 4hz. The bracelet is a solid link rice bead bracelet with screw pins and a solid 316L stainless steel solid head link and measures 22mm wide and tapers to 20mm at the clasp. The clasp is a fully milled double pusher deployant with six micro-adjustments. It has a power reserve of 42 hours and a performance of -10 to +20 seconds per day.

The case and dial are made of 316L stainless steel with a diameter of 42.5 mm and a thickness of 13.76 mm, including a double-domed sapphire crystal. The hands of the watch are custom made and diamond cut with eight layers of Swiss SuperLuminova BGW9. It is waterproof up to 300 meters or 985 feet.

Best Men’s Watches and Watch Brands to Buy in 2022 Sun, 13 Mar 2022 04:40:01 +0000 Whether you’re looking for a cutting-edge smartwatch or something more traditional, we’ve rounded up some great men’s watches for every budget and style.

Our articles are dedicated to helping you find the right product at the right price. We may receive revenue from affiliate and advertising partnerships for sharing this content and when you make a purchase. Learn more

The fact that we’re perpetually glued to our screens raises an interesting question about the need for a watch.

Before we had more computing power in our pocket than it took to send a man to the moon, a watch was essential for keeping track of the day. Now almost all devices tell us the time.

Despite this, the watches did not go out of style.

This may be because they often have sentimental value or they mark a milestone as many require a big investment.

Whatever the reason, a watch is an elegant and – pardon the pun – timeless accessory.

Whether it’s your first watch purchase or your tenth, buying a watch can be tricky. Digital or analog, leather or stainless steel, smart or classic, the options are an endless source of excitement (or anxiety, depending on how you look at it.)

Whether you’re an Omega fan or prefer something a little more subtle, I’ve rounded up a few options that I hope will really get your heart racing at a million miles per minute.

Nixon Spectra, the iconic, $560

I am convinced that a great watch should pay homage to the true classics of history, and the Nixon Spectra is a remarkable synthesis of tradition and modern innovation. The watch has impressive features like Japanese automatic movement, stainless steel exterior and 40 hour power reserve. The hero here, however, is the skeleton dial: a real chef’s kiss moment.

Tissot Chrono XL Classic, the iconic, $600

If you want good ol’ reliable then this is it. Tissot is known for great products at great value, and the Chrono XL Classic exceeds expectations. With its stainless steel case and water resistance to 100 m, it is extremely resistant.

Apple Series 7, Amazon, $597

Apple is far from an apprentice in the smartwatch game, and there’s good reason it should continue to reign supreme as the tech leader. The crack-resistant screen protects a host of features including a blood oxygen sensor, ECG, voice assistance and sports tracking. I’m afraid this watch is smarter than me.

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, Amazon, $324

With up to 12 days of battery life, I’m confident this watch has its own heartbeat. Don’t worry, you’re not skimping on features.

Garmin Forerunner 645, Amazon Australia, $535.94

Garmin knows the sport, and the Forerunner 645 is quick to make that clear. This watch provides the kind of stats that will make you feel like a pro, regardless of your PB. The crowning glory of this watch is its ability to download up to 500 songs for phone-free listening.

Fitbit Sense Smartwatch, Sport Rebel, $449

Long gone are the days when the FitBit graced only the wrists of the fitness-conscious mom, the extensive features of the Fitbit Sense extend to ECG, heart rate monitor, Google Assist (or Alexa, your choice), built-in GPS, plus a 6-month trial to Fitbit premium. The Fitbit Sense is really very powerful.

Daniel Wellington Petite Sterling, The Iconic, $219

Without plundering your wallet, Daniel Wellington is a leader in providing high-end timepieces that can carry you from brunch to wedding. The interesting part of this piece is its interchangeable bracelets, allowing several looks with the same classic dial.

Nixon Sentry, the iconic, $349

Luckily for us, the Nixon Sentry is a high end of everyday luxury. Don’t let the premium looks fool you, the Nixon Sentry can withstand 100m of submersion and has a hardened crystal mineral face, so you know it can withstand the real world.

Seamaster Diver 300 M, Omega, $8,250

Designer is synonymous with status, and nothing says it more than Omega. Far from being camera shy, the Seamaster graced the wrists of US President Joe Biden and Pierce Brosnen in Goldeneye.

The Master Longines Collection, Longines, $3,150

Longines knows luxury and the brand has pulled out all the stops for its most revered range. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal houses the refined chronograph that has been a mainstay of the brand since its inception.

Seiko Announces Three New Prospex Save The Ocean Special Edition Dive Watches Fri, 11 Mar 2022 14:00:44 +0000

Although the first Seiko diver made its market debut in 1965, the Japanese giant’s diving watches really built their reputation for durability and precision when it was chosen to supply the Japanese Antarctic research expedition of 1966 to 1969. Seiko’s dive watch lines have been closely associated with the unforgiving conditions of the poles ever since, from Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura’s famous solo dog sled race in 1974 from Greenland to Alaska wearing a Seiko 6105, to the brand’s modern efforts in the dangerous field of ice diving. For its latest releases, Seiko returns to the polar environment for inspiration, with a trio of stylish dive options designed to evoke the look of glacial ice. The new Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition models, including the Seiko Prospex SPB297, Seiko Prospex SPB299 and Seiko Prospex SPB301, combine classic Seiko diver silhouettes with solid modern construction and an incredibly intricate dial finish.

The three new Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition models follow the pattern of the brand’s fan-favorite diver’s offerings from the 60s and 70s. with a 40.5mm stainless steel case and a sleek, skin-diver style silhouette. The mix of radial brushing, square lugs, narrow polished chamfers and a large, unprotected screw-down crown should be familiar to Seiko enthusiasts. The brand pairs that familiar outline with a clean etched black bezel insert with a nice brushed finish radially into the images. The 42mm stainless steel case of the Seiko Prospex SPB299 instead follows the sharp lines of “design grammar” defined by the modern reinterpretation family of the diver from 1968. With a wide polished top chamfer, a dramatic undercut on the side of the case and a bold diver’s bezel, it’s an instantly recognizable silhouette for the brand, and Seiko pairs it here with a shiny navy blue diver’s bezel insert. Finally, the 42.7mm stainless steel case of the Seiko Prospex SPB301 draws stylistic inspiration from the “Willard” collection, or 1970 Diver’s Modern Re-Interpretation. This cushion-shaped, pebble-shaped case shape is a definitive entry into the Seiko design canon, and its rounded lugs, sloping bowl-shaped case sides, and heavily protected 4 o’clock crown make it a distinctive model in every way. shapes. Here, however, Seiko adds an extra layer of finishing to that familiar case, with a unique azure texture for its navy blue bezel insert for a striking and detailed effect in the images. All three models feature solid screw-down case backs and feature robust 200-meter water resistance along with Seiko’s exclusive ultra-hard coating for enhanced scratch resistance.

Each of the three new models in the Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition range uses the same complex faceted dial texture, intended to mimic the rocks and cracks of glacial ice. Although the final surface appears etched at first glance, each dial in the series is stamped into its final shape, and the seemingly random assortment of vertical ridges and grooves are carefully considered by one of Seiko’s top designers. The naturalistic pattern is the result of over 100 hours of computer-aided design work, and the finished product features over 2,000 individual surface facets of varying shapes and sizes. The final dial design does an impressive job of capturing the look and feel of an icy face, while the carefully orchestrated assortment of facets successfully melds into a seemingly organic random pattern in the images. To better withstand the shocks and rigors of heavy cold weather use, each model’s indexes are not applied, but rather stamped into the main dial itself, eliminating the risk of breaking an index during a violent impact. All three iterations adopt a different icy colorway, meant to capture a different look of glaciers and sea ice. The Seiko Prospex SPB297 pairs its baton hands and rectangular indexes with a cool ocean blue dial, meant to capture the look of polar water at the edge of a glacier. The Seiko Prospex SPB299 takes a more subdued approach, with classic diver-style indices and a striking pale blue finish that mirrors the color of deep glacial ice. It’s the Seiko Prospex SPB301 that brings arguably the most versatile and beautiful colorway to wear, however, with a snow white dial that highlights the intricate texture of the dial in the initial images. However, all three models suffer somewhat from mismatched white date wheels at 3 o’clock, which notably disrupts the overall flow of these complex dial surfaces.

Seiko powers the three new Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition models with its in-house 6R35 automatic movement. The 6R35 has become a staple of the brand’s sporty mid-range options in recent years and offers a substantial 70 hour power reserve at a consistent 21,600 bph beat rate. Although each of the three new models is paired with a brushed stainless steel three-link bracelet featuring a diver’s extension, each model offers a unique take on the diver’s watch with its own uniquely shaped links. These little touches, from rounded links on the SPB297 to sharply faceted angular examples on the SPB299, go a long way in establishing a unique personality for each model in the images.

With a surprisingly intricate dial finish, rugged construction and icy colorways that nod to the brand’s Arctic exploration heritage, the three new models in the Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition range offer an eye-catching tribute to one of the most unforgiving environments in the world. . All three models in the Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition range will be available at selected Seiko authorized retailers and boutiques from June 2022. The MSRP for the Seiko Prospex SPB297 and Seiko Prospex SPB299 is $1,250 each at press time, while the Seiko Prospex SPB301 is currently expected to be priced at $1,350. A roundup of Gotham’s best ‘The Batman’ collabs, including bat-shaped watches, shoes and pizza Tue, 08 Mar 2022 11:05:48 +0000

Does the Batman franchise need another reboot? Maybe not, although it certainly helps this actor Robert Pattinson, beyond just dusk Fame Mind You, plays the brooding caped crusader in the final film of 2022, released March 3. If you haven’t caught yet The Batman – the movie that is – in theaters, it’s your chance to gear up in style, as you watch our anti-hero take down Gotham’s best villains. Coming up, we’ve got a slew of shoes, watches, bags, and even a bat-shaped pizza to get the buzz on.

1. PUMA x Batman

Sportswear brand PUMA presents a moody collection worthy of our brave hero and the city he swears to protect, bringing together elements of Batman, his Batmobile and the bat emblem across multiple styles of shoes and clothes. The limited-edition collection is made in collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC, and includes apparel and activewear including hoodies, t-shirts, T7 tracksuits, shorts, leggings, hats, and more.

The shoes, however, won’t launch until later this year, but they’re worth the wait. Among these, the iconic PUMA Suede stands out with its black silhouette with red accents, complete with graphic bat patterns along its suede upper. Most of the other shoes pay homage to Batman with a mostly black theme, RS-X, Mayze, and Court Rider styles in the secret, red-accented colorway. 2. The Batman™ x Fossil

There’s a lot to admire in there The Batman™ X Fossil capsule collection – everything from watches to leather backpacks and accessories, plus jewelry including a billionaire-worthy Wax Seal ring.

We’ll start with The Batman™ Watch, clearly a highlight of the extensive collection, and a matte black design that perfectly suits DC’s understated superhero aesthetic. The watch takes on the look of the Batsuit and features a 42mm black ion-plated stainless steel case, red accents and automatic movement with date. It also comes with three interchangeable straps, each with materials that mimic Batman’s technology – Kevlar®, ballistic nylon and molded silicone.

If you want to embrace your inner supervillain, there’s The Riddler™ Watch, a stronger, more graphic piece with a green and black checkered leather strap, and details like The Riddler’s signature question marks on stainless steel, 44mm black ion-plated case. Then there’s jewelry that sees a matte black dog tag necklace, lava bead slider bracelet, and wax seal ring, all featuring the bat emblem.

For leather goods from Fossil, the Batman backpack is definitely one of the most functional styles, done in rich black leather with four exterior pockets, molle panels on the straps and gear clip detailing that works as extra security. and a unique design element. A silicone injected bat emblem creates subtle detailing. Along with this there is also a waist bag, done in a similar style, and leather accessories of card cases and a bi-fold wallet to represent the caped crusader.

$99 – $509, available at and Fossil stores.

3. Little Caesars Batman Pizza Calzony

For something that takes itself much less seriously, ditch Little Caesars Pizza and their take on Batman – The Batman Calzony. This one is an interesting invention that is part of pepperoni pizza and calzone, and 100% Bat-signal inspired, which you can recognize by its bat wing shape.

The Batman Calzony is basically a large pepperoni pizza topped with parmesan, pepperoni slices, plus muenster and mozzarella, made daily with freshly made dough. What’s new is its calzone-like crust around the edges, folded up and down to form the head and tail of the bat logo, which is filled with extra doses of gooey cheese and the brand signature garlic spread. It even comes with a serving of Crazy Sauce® for dipping.

UNDONE presents two affordable Mickey Mouse-themed watches Mon, 07 Mar 2022 18:22:06 +0000

Custom watchmaker UNDONE has been at the center of anmie and pop culture inspired watches. Following the recent release of the Popeye and Brutus monochrome watches and the Batman-themed Dark Knight retrospective watch, UNDONE has now released two Mickey Mouse watches to please fans and collectors.

The new Mickey “Fantasia” and Disney “Guess Who’s Back” are the two Mickey Mouse-themed UNDONE watches for 2022. Designed in collaboration with Disney, these watches have a distinct grip – unlike what we’ve seen – but they are relatively economical – friendly.

Disney “Guess Who’s Back”

A close iteration – in its functionality – of Bulgari’s Gerald Genta Arena Retro Mickey Mouse Disney, the “Guess Who’s Back” features Mickey on the dial with his arms acting as the watch’s hour and minute hands. There’s an interesting twist here – Mickey faces inward, toward the dial, and his face and front frame are visible through the semi-transparent caseback.

The UNDONE x Disney “Guess Who’s Back” is otherwise a 40mm stainless steel case watch with a black ceramic bezel insert complementing the all-white dial covered with Mickey in his signature outfit. The watch is powered by Seiko’s NH35/70 self-winding movement featuring a 41-hour power reserve. With a water resistance of 100 meters, the sporty Disney “Guess Who’s Back” is priced at $599.

Mickey “Fantasy”

UNDONE’s “Fantasia” Mickey takes a slightly different approach to what we’ve actually seen in the past. Featuring Mickey Mouse as a wizard and the boot on the blue dial coming alive at night, the watch will instantly remind fans of the 1940 movie. The chronograph watch has a 42.8mm stainless steel case with a vintage tachymeter design and a water resistance of 30 meters. .

The watch is equally exciting on the back where the semi-transparent caseback with Mickey and Fantasia branding provides a nice glimpse of the chronograph movement inside. The “Fantasia” Mickey arrives on a textured blue suede strap for $480.

UNDONE Introduces Mickey Mouse ‘Fantasia’ and Disney ‘Guess Who’s Back’ Watches Fri, 04 Mar 2022 15:09:09 +0000 Sponsored article featured on aBlogtoWatch for advertiser

Since its inception in 2014, Hong Kong-based brand UNDONE has built its name on offering personalized and personalized watches, many of which feature bright colors and playful designs. The premise of the brand is fun – it’s a breath of fresh air in a hobby that can sometimes feel a bit exclusive or intimidating to newbies and outsiders. Much of the UNDONE collection consists of designs inspired by some of our favorite cartoon and comic book heroes, such as Popeye, Snoopy and Astro Boy. Approaching 100and Disney’s anniversary, UNDONE presents us with two new character watches that feature one of the most famous characters of all: Mickey Mouse. Let’s discover the new Mickey “Fantasia” and Disney “Guess Who’s Back” watches.

Inspired by Walt Disney’s groundbreaking 1940s masterpiece, UNDONE’s Mickey “Fantasia” features Mickey as the famous “sorcerer’s apprentice” character, sporting his signature wizarding cap and robes as he lights up the constellations on your wrist. Fans of the film will no doubt appreciate Mickey’s wizard outfit, as well as the watch’s midnight blue star-marked dial and the film’s instantly recognizable title. The Mickey “Fantasia” look is completed by a textured blue suede strap fitted with a stainless steel pin buckle.

Flip the watch over and you’ll find a blue-tinted caseback with a larger rendering of Mickey Mouse and “Fantasia” signage. Beneath the semi-transparent caseback is Seiko’s VK64 mechanical hybrid quartz chronograph movement. The UNDONE Mickey “Fantasia” is based on the brand’s famous Urban Chronograph, which features a 41.8mm 316L stainless steel case that measures approximately 13.5mm thick. The Urban Chronograph is also distinguished by the added functionality of a 60-minute register and a 24-hour sub-dial.

UNDONE’s second new Mickey watch for 2022, the Disney “Guess Who’s Back”, is perhaps more in line with what watch lovers imagine when they think of a Mickey Mouse watch. Like many Mickey Mouse watches from the mid 20’sand century, the ‘Guess Who’s Back’ features a large rendering of Mickey on the dial, with his arms serving as hour and minute hands.

However, for the first time, Mickey’s back faces outward on the dial, while a rendering of his face and front face is visible against the semi-transparent background. This is a fun and thoughtful twist on the classic Mickey watch aesthetic that is likely to appeal to collectors of vintage Mickey Mouse watches. The piece is fitted with a domed Lexan crystal which distorts the appearance of the dial when viewed from an angle and adds even more personality to the watch.

The “Guess Who’s Back” features a 40mm stainless steel case with mirror polishing, a white dial background and a matte black ceramic bezel insert that gives the watch an urban and sporty vibe and frames the dial nicely. The piece runs on Seiko’s workhorse NH35/70 – an automatic caliber with approximately 41 hours of power reserve. While playful and full of character (pun intended), this one can also double as a sports watch; it has a sufficient water resistance rating of 100 meters.

Overall, the new UNDONE x Disney Mickey Mouse collaborations are fun, well-designed watches that should appeal to watch collectors and Disney fanatics alike. Both items are relatively affordable, with the Mickey “Fantasia” at $480 USD and the Disney “Guess Who’s Back” at $599 USD. Order yours now at

Unimatic gives its dive and field watches a military-inspired overhaul Mon, 28 Feb 2022 20:57:57 +0000

Looking for a unique tool watch that won’t break the bank? The new Esercito Italiano collection from Unimatic, a relatively young Italian watch brand, deserves a place at the top of your shopping list. The collection includes three timepieces, each a limited edition version designed as a tribute to the Italian armed forces.

The watches are revised versions of Unimatic’s existing U1 dive and U4 field watches, but they have a few unique aesthetic and functional features that really set them apart. The two U1 models in the collection, the U1-PA (series limited to 300 pieces) and the U1-PAN (series limited to 150 pieces only), are both a tribute to the Paracadutisti, the parachute corps within the Italian army. The corps logo, a parachute between a pair of wings, is proudly stamped on the lower half of the dial of both watches; the logo is also engraved on the back of the cases.

The watches have also received a notable functional upgrade: both feature a unidirectional rotating bezel with compass markings, so they can be used for orientation and navigation. And as you’d expect, they’re built to perform in demanding circumstances. They feature sturdy 40mm stainless steel cases, double-domed sapphire crystal on the dial, and oversized indexes with plenty of light for excellent visibility. They’re paired with a NATO-style nylon webbing to help you get the perfect fit no matter how many layers you’re wearing.

The only difference between them? The U1-PAN ups the ante with a black DLC finish to resist scuffs and scratches; it also gives the watch a more understated look.

The U4-TA, limited to only 200 copies, is a tribute to the Truppe Alpine Command, Italy’s elite mountain warfare force and the oldest such unit still active in the world. This is a special version of Unimatic’s U4 field watch, and it comes with a new “foliage green” dial and matching TPU strap.

Like the divers, the U4-TA features a highly legible dial layout, with large luminescent indexes and hands, and its military roots are evident: “Truppe Alpine” is boldly emblazoned at the top. The 40mm stainless steel case features a sandblasted finish, which gives this watch a solid and sturdy appearance. Even better, it has the stats to back up that first impression. It is water resistant to 300 meters and topped with a durable sapphire crystal on the dial.

These three military tribute watches are powered by a Seiko automatic movement for reliable timekeeping, and all offer a 41-hour power reserve. With their rugged good looks, proud military pedigree, and great prices, these are watches you can wear every day. They won’t let you down no matter how tough your day gets.
