New watches unveiled in December 2021: Patek, Hublot, Casio and more

2021 marks the return of watchmaking normality with brands gradually unveiling new watches throughout the year. Despite being the last month of the year, December continues to pleasantly surprise fans with a slew of new offers. Place your order now, but don’t expect to walk out of the store wearing one.

While they may have been released to the public in December 2021, it’s likely that these new watches won’t hit stores until after the New Year. Conversely, you can look at it from the perspective of the half-full glass. Rather than ending 2021 with a nice splurge, you could start 2022 with a whole new luxury totem pole.

Patek Philippe

Are you looking for something exquisite that speaks to you, literally? The Ref. The “advanced search” 5750 minute repeater may well fit this bill. While there are countless demanding requirements expected of a typical minute repeater, at Patek Philippe every chime creation is additionally subjected to a hearing assessment by Thierry Stern. It was under his leadership that the revered Manufacture embarked on a relentless quest to refine the minute repeater, in particular on resonance and acoustics.

Now, the chirping melody triggered by the last Patek Philippe minute repeater is both louder and softer thanks to the revolutionary mechanical sound amplification system it uses. The creation of the fortissimo “ff” module, composed of a flexibly suspended sound lever and an oscillating plate in transparent sapphire crystal, forms the basis of this highly prized minute repeater. Limited to 15 pieces, all coated with 40 mm of 950 platinum, the watch bears witness to Patek Philippe’s relentless quest for horological excellence.

Not one but two, as Casio reveals some new strengths to be reckoned with in its famous MTG series – MTG-B2000YBD and MTG-B2000XD. A watch that is going to take a beating, each one is enhanced with a multi-layered carbon in their bezel frames to not only improve durability but also lose weight. In addition, they feature a composite band in layers of metal and fine resin for greater comfort. The result is a watch that is resistant to shocks, centrifugal forces and vibrations. Cool features you can expect include automatic time adjustment, Bluetooth low power consumption, and solar charging.

Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Rainbow Sapphire

The Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow really makes everyone smile. Numbered edition produced in 100 pieces, the watch is adorned with the whimsical emblem of the Japanese artist, the smiling flower. Each petal is set with a rainbow of stones: rubies, pink sapphires, amethysts, blue sapphires, tsavorites, yellow and orange sapphires. Omega Constellation 36mm diamonds

Brighter, bolder and a lot more to choose from, Omega’s long-running Constellation Collection is getting a much-needed refresh. Aside from the oversizing at 36mm, the collection is treated with color coordination between the dial and the bracelet. Each new model is edged with 38 diamonds (0.92 ct), while the magnificent sun-brushed dial is further enhanced with 0.19 ct of diamonds as the hour markers. Corresponding to the material of the case, each edition is set with a Constellation star and indexes in 18K white gold, 18K yellow gold or 18K Sedna gold. What is universal is that all of them are METAS certified and powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800 caliber.

Richard Mille

The coveted and much-discussed Nadal series now comes with a new edition in the form of the RM 35-03 Automatic Rafael Nadal. Perhaps not as brightly colored as the previous editions, the latest creation is no less eye-catching thanks to a seamless marriage between blue and white. Not just a collaborative timepiece named after the tennis sensation, this ‘baby Nadal’ has a nifty trick incorporated into the function of its rotor. The so-called patented butterfly rotor can be adjusted according to the demand of the wearer. For example, in sport mode, the rotor winding can be intentionally stopped, giving wearers full control of their possession. It is available in blue Quartz TPT with a white Quartz TPT middle part or in white TPT Quartz and Carbon TPT with a Carbon TPT middle part.
