CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has given each of his offensive linemen a unique addition to their respective jewelry collections.
Burrow gifted the team’s 13 offensive linemen with the team’s diamond-encrusted Casio G-Shock watches.
According to jeweler Leo Frost, who has worked with Burrow and several other athletes in the past, Burrow called about a month before Christmas and wanted the offensive line to be something of a thank you.
They decided to take one of the most durable watches made in the past 40 years and give it a spin.
Frost used diamonds valued at 14 carats and placed them in a white gold setting around the face of the watch. The back of every Casio GM6900SCM-1 that sells for $ 210 bears the name of the recipient – from starter Hakeem Adeniji to practice squad players such as Lamont Gaillard.
Burrow isn’t the first to take a high-end view of the G-Shock. Earlier in December, singer-songwriter John Mayer re-released a G-Shock collaboration that ran out of steam.
Burrow is no stranger to jewelry, either. He worked with Frost on several chains, including a larger version of one that featured a “9” pendant originally donated by rapper Boosie Badazz. Burrow also has a diamond encrusted Cartier Santos, which Frost made and unveiled in March.
