Bulgari has chosen Lorenzo Viotti as its new global watch ambassador.
The rising musical director will support the activities of the jewelry house and will aim to help increase brand awareness, alongside fellow conductor and ambassador Beatrice Venezi.
Born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1990, Viotti is part of a new generation of classical music talent. The Millennial bandleader is among those reshaping the traditional image of a “maestro” by sharing on social media not only his work but also a wide range of musical styles, as well as his passion for well-being and all things sport. Her fresh image has already caught the attention of luxury brands including Valentino, who often dresses her for concerts.
Born into an Italian family and son of the late conductor Marcello Viotti, the conductor served as Music Director of the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon and Designated Conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra in Amsterdam. .
Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of the Bulgari Group, underlined that Viotti “embodies so perfectly the audacity of our identity”.
“Like our watchmaking expertise, Lorenzo [Viotti] fuses an Italian soul with a Swiss rigor. Time is the rhythm of music, we are proud to mark its talent with our timepieces, from chiming watches to the Octo Finissimo world record saga, including the coolest BB Aluminium. With Beatrice Venezi, Bulgari Horlogerie has created a unique and young artistic dream team to convey its beauty and creativity,” said Babin.
Viotti underlined that “the artistic vision of the future of Bulgari and the respect for traditions are two elements of time that I respect a lot and that I try to practice every day in my art”.
Viotti has already won several accolades during his career. In 2012, at only 22 years old, he received first prize at the Cadaqués International Conducting Competition. Three years later, he won the Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award and, the following year, the MDR Sinfonieorchester conducting competition. In 2017 he was named “Newcomer of the Year” at the International Opera Award.
Viotti will soon travel to Milan, where he is expected to lead concerts at the iconic La Scala theater from February 24-27.
As a Bulgari ambassador, Viotti joins the likes of Zendaya, Priyanka Chopra, Blackpink’s Lisa, Shu Qi and Vittoria Ceretti, to name a few.
